She has just spoken before the United Nations Working Group on Arbitrary Detention in Geneva, Switzerland, on Australia's immigration detention centres and the cases of a number of Australians stranded overseas. SBS News' Essam Al-Ghalib has spoken with Ms Battison about her work, and the plight of three consular cases: Mohammad Munshi, a British-Australian mining worker jailed in Mongolia and barred from leaving; Robert Pether, imprisoned in Iraq; and Terry Holohan, detained in Mali earlier this month.
