Interview Amelia Warner

from FilmMusicSite.com: Composer Talk · host FilmMusicSite.com

Amelia Warner is a British female composer for film. Her debut major scoring project, a British short film ‘Mam’, which won several awards, was the launch of her career as a composer for film. In 2018 she scored the Irish-American film Mary Shelley for director Haifa al-Mansour, for which she wrote an otherworldly music for an orchestra haunted by ethereal female vocals. In 2022 she wrote a contemporary classical score for the period romantic comedy ‘Mr Malcolm’s List’ for which she received a Public Choice Award at the World Soundtrack Awards in Ghent and a breakthrough Composer of The Year at the International Film Music Critics Association. Coming up for her is the Jerry Bruckheimer produced Disney film ‘Young Woman and the Sea’, starring Daisy Ridley. In this Composer Talk Amelia Warner talks about working the Disney production Young Woman and the Sea but also about her earlier work like Mary Shelley.
