Interview: Benedict Harris-Hayes (Composer / Multi-Instrumentalist) of Oceanica

Benedict Harris-Hayes is an award-winning audio creative, composer and multi-instrumentalist best known for his work in MASS!VE DYNAM!C and ENOCHIAN THEORY, as well as his ‘progressive metal’ project, Oceanica. It’s the latter that we know him best for, having really enjoyed the 2019 debut album from the project, OneDark (read our review here). As good as that album was, Ben improved on what the project could deliver impressively with the album, ‘Panta Rhei’, released in 2023. Benedict Harris-Hayes is a talented musician, a very creative individual, and it’s his latest imaginative effort that got us talking. Coming late 2024, it’s ‘Try Not to Dwell on It’, a new 21-minute-long track from Oceanica. In this interview, we get into some of the details of the track, the creative process of it, and how it came about.
