Interview: 'Degrowthers' talk about degrowth and October 'Degrowth Spring Festival'

from Climate Conversations · host Robert McLean

Tonié and Sandy help us better understand degrowth and tell us something about the Degrowth Spring Festival coming up on Sunday, October 8. The festival is to be held at Melbourne's "CERES", an environmental education centre, community garden, urban farm and social enterprise hub that wants people to fall in love with the Earth again. To that end, the work of CERES spans environmental, social, economic, spiritual and cultural dimensions and so has many similarities with the core values of the Degrowth Movement. The festival, which is free and epitomises the non-transactional values of the degrowth movement, begins at midday and continues through to 6:30 pm. You can learn more about Degrowthby watching this Youtube clip, "Degrowth Week Australia: Where to from here?". The image of a snail affectionally represents degrowth.
