INTERVIEW ERLING STRAND

Published April 23rd, 2021. Erling Strand is an assistant professor at the School of Computer Science, Østfold University College in Norway (www.hiof.no). He is one of the founders and, since 1993, project manager of the Hessdalen Project, whose main task is to find out more about the mysterious lights in the Hessdalen Valley in Norway. He was in charge of the scientific and technical part of the two fieldworks, carried out in 1984 and 1985. An automatic station was put into operation in the Hessdalen Valley in 1998. Since 2002, there have been science camps in the Hessdalen Valley, where young students spend a week in the valley in search of Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAP), equipped with many instruments. Erling Strand has participated in around 100 different TV shows, over 100 radio shows and has presented the project worldwide more than 130 times.
