Interview: Luke Genders (Guitar) of Defects - Talking Horror

from GBHBL Interviews · host Games, Brrraaains & A Head-Banging Life

UK metallers Defects have announced their October - November UK ‘The Bloodline’ Tour. The support will come from Profiler and Knife Bride. Tickets are available from here: https://www.wearedefects.com/ The tour will begin on 19 October in Glasgow (Garage Attic) and call through Newcastle (The Cluny), Manchester (Rebellion), Leeds (Key Club), London (O2 Islington Academy 2), Bristol (Exchange). Oxford (Jericho Tavern) and finishes on 7 November in Birmingham (Flapper). Defects released their debut album, ‘Modern Error’, in May and have spent the summer with blistering sets on the festival circuit, playing at Download (UK) and Graspop (Belgium) as well as tours with Of Mice and Men and Orbit Culture this year. They have also played with the likes of Bullet for My Valentine, Funeral for a Friend and In Flames. You don’t have to always relate to an album’s theme or concept to feel what the band is trying to say. Sometimes, the experience shared is so powerful, that it hits hard regardless of a personal connection. There might be no better example of this in the modern times than Defects’ long-awaited debut album, Modern Error. A 13-track showcase (including an intro and interlude) of what this band is capable of. Which just so happens to be passionately delivered metal that blends elements of melodic metal, heavy alternative rock, metalcore, groove metal, and more. Where every track has some form of anthemic value regardless of the level of heaviness that comes with it. Read our full review of the album here: https://www.gbhbl.com/album-review-defects-modern-error-mascot-records/ It’s spooky season and spooky things are afoot. While the main focus of this interview with guitarist Luke Genders is about horror and his memorabilia collection, we do dive into the details about the upcoming tour, and so much more.
