Mit ihrer Band Xmal Deutschland hat sie in den 80ern einen ganz eigenen Sound generiert und mit „Qual“ oder „Incubus Succubus“ zwei Hits geschaffen, die bis heute nichts vonihrer geheimnisvollen Aura verloren haben.Am 9. Mai 2025 erscheinen die Xmal-Deutschland-Alben „Fetisch“ (1983) und „Tocsin“ (1984) zusammen mit allen Singles und EPs aus jener Zeit als Dreifach-LP "Gift: The 4AD Years" in einer schicken Box neu.Wir haben mit Anja über diese Wiederveröffentlichung gesprochen, die Anfänge der Band in einer WG auf St. Pauli, den Gang nach England zum Kult-Label "4AD" und dann den Bogen in die Gegenwart geschlagen.
