Interview: Recording artist/producer Lukesavant on his new album "Last Night Wasn't Love"

from The Randy Report - LGBTQ Politics & Entertainment · host Randy Slovacek

Today I’m chatting with California-based electronic pop artist, producer, songwriter, and longtime figure within the online remix culture - Lukesavant. For more than 25 years, he has created unofficial Madonna remixes and reinterpretations while also cultivating one of the internet’s most enduring underground Madonna remix communities through Remixers United, a fan-driven platform and social network that has connected remixers and music fans worldwide for over 13 years. But now, he’s releasing his own debut album, "Last Night Wasn't Love "- a new collection of original songs developed as a cohesive late-night narrative inspired by his years living in San Francisco. Lukesavant’s music blends atmospheric electronic production with emotionally-based songwriting, exploring themes of nightlife, longing, connection, and emotional distance based on his years living as a young gay man in San Francisco. He’s released the first single, “Let You Go,” today. The track introduces the album’s moody, nocturnal atmosphere and sets the tone for the album's narrative arc. And since he's my go-to expert on all things Madonna, he shares his thoughts on the queen of pop's upcoming new album, "Confessions II." Lukesavant's new album, "Last Night Wasn’t Love", is scheduled for release July 17. Click here to pre-save on Apple Music: https://music.apple.com/us/album/last-night-wasnt-love/6780536440
