Interview Stephanie Economou

Stephanie Economou is a Grammy-winning composer and multi-instrumentalist whose music has been praised for its eclectic sophistication and emotionally immersive qualities. Her creative identity is born out of the exploration and study of many diverse musical styles, including classical, experimental, folk, electronic, and rock. Stephanie is the composer of DreamWorks’ animated features Ruby Gillman, Teenage Kraken and Gabby’s Dollhouse: The Movie, as well as Lionsgate’s About My Father and Universal’s My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3.  She has written the music for the Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla  DLCs The Siege of Paris and Dawn of Ragnarök, the latter of which earned her the historic 2023 Grammy Award for “Best Score for Video Games and Other Interactive Media,” making her the first-ever winner in the new category. Most recently she has completed the score for the highly anticipated HBO/DC Studios series “Lanterns”. In this episode of Composer Talk composer Stephanie Economou takes us into the world of Lanterns, the new HBO Max series about DC’s Green Lantern.
