Interview: 'We're being encouraged to be seperated and hateful. We need to focus on what matters and come together' - Kyle Magee
from Climate Conversations · host Robert McLean
Kyle Magee (pictured) is just 40 but has a clear-eyed grasp of what troubles the world and why that is happening. Arriving where he is today has not been easy and when the realization of climate change settled upon him as a university student, Kyle had what he describes as a "breakdown". Understanding that action is the best antidote to despair, Kyle set out to do what he could and saw what he considered to be the failure of our media and the distortions arising from advertising, so he decided to tackle both. Kyle set up the website Democratic Media Please and then took some practical steps to disrupt the advertising processes of the major corporations. He has paid some attention to those involved with the "Subvertising" movement, articulated by the Cultural geographer at Aberystwyth University. Thomas Dekeyser.
