  David M. Gutel has been involved with film production most of his life, since beginning his career working on sets as a visionary in the art department, a young ambitious filmmaker for his first five years in the industry. David further continued his work with special emphasis on the art of Direction, receiving his Bachelor’s Degree in Film Production from Cal State Long Beach. There he received award, nominations and acclaim as a young director. David’s first three films received recognition and award from multiple festivals including Big Bear International Film Festival, Oceanside International Film Festival, Newport Beach Film Festival, etc. Davids work titled “Peace of Mind” was a top finalist for Ben Affleck and Matt Damon, in conjunction with HBO’s season 4 of “Project Greenlight”, 2015. The film was selected from tens of thousands of competitor submissions to advance to the Top 200, runner up round. While continuing his amazing work as an on the lot Director at JIG Reel Studios in Los Angeles, Davids main passion project has truly become “What Child is This” written by Kurtis Anton. David has been working with Kurtis since 2014 soon after they met on the set of David’s film Peace of Mind. David played a key role in the development of the project early on and then together they filmed the opening scene of the feature film in January of 2015.David is a proven, very efficient, on budget, super organized, yet courteous and respectful Director.  .
