Dr. Harris’ research, writing, and teaching, focus on the impacts of racism and racial inequality on Black communities and Black people as individuals, particularly when living and working in predominantly white institutional settings. Her examination of academic experiences among DI football and men’s basketball players has appeared in the Boston Globe, Chicago Tribune, Houston Chronicle, and Philadelphia Inquirer.
