His business journey for 10 years was a struggle and failed because of undercharging and the incorrect mindset. After leaving school at 15 Darren has always had a minimum wage job and therefore took that mindset into business and as a result, grossly undercharged. In May 2018 Darren along with his business partner Danny risked it all to create Expert Apps a software-as-a-service (SaaS) for businesses, coaches and niche entrepreneurs aiming to increase revenue, retention, referrals, reach and results (The 5 R's). We created the prototype and at £4,200 we did an event to showcase the idea and as a result, people invested with us. The interest in the product increased and so did the price, we starting selling at £25,000 and ended with a first-year turnover of £500,000 gross profit. It's a product for mentors, coaches, authors, influences so that they can have their own personal branded social networking app. It's powerful because it's helping them serve their clients at a level that's never happened before. What we're creating here is evolving all of the time. We're constantly evolving and learning. We started off in the property space and after viewing a property the pin dropped, why aren't we using this app and this technology in other spaces and other industries. We started building and evolving and therefore created an app for industry experts, tailored to them. A Martial Arts apps, a Football app, each one bespoke to their industry and used by the expert themselves. Expert Apps are now crowdfunding and taking the business globally. We've had over 40 people, coaches, mentors, industry experts adopt our technology in the first year and that's just the UK. So we're crowdfunding and we want to take this global. There are 2.5million people in the US with ‘Coach' in their title on LinkedIn alone, so we're a very attractive investment opportunity for seed and venture capitalists so there's growth to be had.   When crowdfunding, make sure you get your timing right. In two weeks we've raised £425,000. But remember when crowdfunding you're asking everyone to take a risk in your business, investors are liable and you need to make sure they're investing for the right reasons and investing in the business owners themselves and not just the business concept or previous growth. You need to have a good team around you, between six of us at Expert Apps we've signed up 44 licenses, created this social media platform and it's just the beginning. I would say we're only 3% in our journey as a business and there's no stopping us. You need to set yourself a goal and see where you will be one year from now. Ask yourself where you want to be one year from now. Tell yourself where you want to be and don't listen to anyone else. There's a lot to be said for the law of attraction. Money is much easier to obtain when you believe this. If you want something you need to believe it will happen.
