Interview with Fadista singer, Ramana Vieira & Hot Club of Hulaville guitarist, Sonny Silva

I interviewed internationally acclaimed Portuguese American Fado singer, Ramana Vieira and two of the guys from the Hot Club of Hulaville, Sonny Silva and Jeff Linsky on A Feast of Friends on KTUH 90.1 FM over the weekend.  The group will be performing on Sunday, November 17, 2019 at Medici at Manoa MarketPlace, 2754 Woodlawn Drive, Unit 7-103, Honolulu, Hi. (808) 351-0901.  http://honolulumusicatmedicis.comKnown as the Portuguese incarnation of the blues, Fado (destiny and fate) is a form of Portuguese music that originated in the early 19th-century, invoking "Saudade" or an inexplicable longing and enigmatic yearning of the soul or loss and in my opinion, its reminiscent of the Spanish "Duende," described by Spanish poet and writer, Federico Garcia Lorca as the dark creative inspiration that lives in great works of art, music and dance. Ramana has a deep, personal relationship to Fado music. She sings with heartfelt passion. She will be performing with the amazing Hot Club of Hulaville, Sonny Silva and Jeff Linsky on guitar/ukelele, Duane Padilla on violin and Randy Wong of bass.ramanavieira.net  | hotclubofhulaville.com
