Barnsteiner, a professor of nursing at the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing and a contributing editor for AJN, participated in developing the Advisory Committee’s recommendation that the Joint Commission require all accredited facilities to have a written policy and procedures for enforcing an institutional code of conduct that would apply to all employees and affiliated physicians.
