Send Cathy a text:)Kandis Draw became a caregiver suddenly in 2011 when her mom was diagnosed with Stage 4 Ovarian cancer and also had to take care of her younger siblings.  She was her mom's primary caregiver for 3.5 years.   Through her challenges and struggles she found community, resources and courage.  Kandis has learned strength, resilience and how to recover trauma that caregiving can bring.  Kandis Draw lives in Chicago, is a classically trained pianist and a lover of philanthropy. She is a member of the Aids Foundation of Chicago Associate Board, Gilda’s Club Chicago Associate Board, and is an active member on the Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance.  She writes a column for Curvicality Magazine which is an online magazine which focuses on lifestyle, fashion, fitness and inspiration, all while promoting positive body imagery for plus-size women.
