INTERVIEW WITH KATIE NOVO
from ELECSOUL PRESENTED BY DJ ROBBIE DUNCAN Hosted by DJ Robbie Duncan
Episode 240 is live! I’m joined by the brilliant Katie Novo ahead of her Ngoma debut at Stroud Brewery on 18 July. Bristol-based DJ and radio host, Katie’s sets blend jazz, broken beat, soul, house, Afrobeat, and more — always with a focus on connection, joy, and the dancefloor. As the founder of Counting Blessings, she’s created an open and welcoming space where people can let go and truly enjoy the dancefloor. Whether behind the decks at clubs and festivals or hosting shows on 1BTN and Noods Radio, Katie is all about celebrating music’s power to bring people together. Katie is a wonderful soul. She speaks openly about her journey and experiences along the way and gives plenty of sage advice for new & experienced DJs. In this episode, she shares her musical journey, the discoveries that shaped her sound, her thoughts on DJ culture — and three incredible tunes she’s loving right now. The show is available on Apple Podcasts, SoundCloud, and Mixcloud, as part of a series of artist profile interviews running over the next month in the lead-up to Ngoma. Tickets for Ngoma are on sale now! Early-bird tickets are sold out, but general entry tickets are available via Skiddle.com and the Stroud Brewery website. https://www.skiddle.com/whats-on/Gloucester/The-Stroud-Brewery-And-Taproom/Ngoma/40878734/ Cover photography by Claire Waddell Photographer
