He won a quarter of a million dollars ($250,000) on a scratch ticket from North Carolina in 2019. In this interview, he discusses what it was like to win the lottery and how he used the winnings to feed the homeless. However, Roberto Mendoza's incredible story goes much deeper.Born in El Salvador, Roberto Mendoza grew up hungry in a war-torn country. He remembers turning on the water and witnessing air come out of the tap. He survived a kidnapping before eventually winding up in the USA where he became a renowned chef.
