Interview with Mrs. Tana Smith

from Lioness Queen · host Rev. Dr. Marisha Stewart

Bio: A wife of 24 years and mother of 3 children, Tana Smith is a caregiver, advocate, and worship leader who is passionate about helping parents navigate resources for their children with special needs.  Although all 3 of her children have some degree of neurodivergence, her journey of caregiving and advocacy began with her first child who had a speech delay at age 3 and then later diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder at age 7.  Now that her first born has transitioned into adulthood, her role has expanded to assisting her son with becoming his own advocate and developing independence. After being a stay-at-home mom during her children’s formative years, Tana currently works full-time as a biomedical/scientific writer and editor, specializing in cancer treatment content for health professionals.  She serves in ministry as a worship leader and attends a Moms in Prayer International women’s group.
