Interview with Rebecca Long Bailey MP
from GND Media
Labour's 2019 manifesto was one of the most radical platforms put forward by any major political party in modern european history. At the heart of the project was the Green Industrial Revolution. The plan to decarbonise the economy while providing jobs for millions of people across the country and supporting those transitioning from the fossil fuel sector. As we all know Labour didn't win in that election but the radicalism of that platform is what informs this podcast and if it wasn't for the large commitment to decarbonisation this podcast probably wouldn't exist. This week on the show we are joined by one of the architects of that platform MP Rebecca Long Bailey. We discuss the foundations of Labour's Green Industrial Revolution, Why that name was chosen over Green New Deal, Long Baileys journey to eco socialism and where the Party is now on greening the economy.
