Robert Johnson is associate director of economic analysis for Morningstar. Prior to assuming his current role in 2008, Johnson was an associate director of stock analysis for the technology team. Johnson has more than 20 years of investment experience, including both buy-side and sell-side assignments as a research analyst. His work experience includes stints at Stein Roe & Farnham, Rotan Mosle, and ABN AMRO and has involved extensive exposure to technology names. Johnson was consistently ranked in the Reuters US Mid to Smaller Company Survey in the software arena. His areas of expertise include electronic commerce and specialty software and services. Johnson earned a bachelor's degree in chemistry and business administration from Carroll College and a master's degree in business administration from Harvard University. Johnson also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and is a member of The Investment Analysts Society of Chicago.
