Interview with the City of DJinn Project

Here's the information regarding The City of DJinn Project. Chicago duo Marvan Kamel and Micah Bezold make up the musical group, City of DJinn. Their signature style, psychedelic drone rock draws from experimental music and traditional Arabic maqam and instruments such as the buzuq. In this interview, we discussed the project and collaboration spear-headed by professor and scholar Mickey Weems with other Hawaii artists to produce a series of traditional Arabic songs, remixes, house music fusion, spoken words & interviews. House music DJ and producer Higher Concept (Hi-C), spoken words artist and musician Navid Najafi and promoter and radio personality DJ Nocturna will contribute their skills to this effort.
