Interview: Zach Throne

Not to spoil anything but a lot of the cast of California Dreams didn’t actually sing or play instruments live on the show. I know… BUMMER. But we managed to track down some of the people responsible for those iconic pretending-to-be-teenager voices! We sat down with Zach Throne, multi-talented and faceted artist with a long rap sheet of credits. He dubbed in the singing voice of Mark on California Dreams as well as providing a lot of the studio guitar and bass in seasons 3-5. Yet, he has never met his alter ego, Aaron Jackson!We talk about how he got the gig after his short but pivotal role on the Heights (California Dreams’ Canadian competition show!) and what it was like to have a #1 song at the same time. Zach has spent the years being a working musician, which is nothing to sneeze at, as well as an accomplished voice-over artist for shows like Spongebob and Avatar. He has toured with KISS, Aerosmith and an absurd amount of others.
