Into the Roots We Go: Journaling for Clarity

from Journal Up! with Becca Rae · host Becca Rae Eagle, M.S.Ed.

Send us Fan MailOne of my favourite musicals growing up was "Into the Woods". I adored the characters' quests, sharing their dreams in the process...kind of like we do here, digging deeper into ourselves through journaling. In the opening song, Little Red Riding Hood sings,"Into the woods/To get the thing/That makes it worth/The journeying/into the woods" (Sondheim).Similarly, we enter each year seeking our own clarity on a dream for the new year ahead and all the discoveries we'll make along the way, making it worth the journaling.Today we discuss digging into a different kind of root, etymology, to shine light on the word we have chosen for 2023. Merriam-Webster defines etymology as"the history of a linguistic form (such as a word) shown by tracing its development since its earliest recorded occurrence ." https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/etymologyWe also discuss the many ways jouranling helps us discover clarity in multiple areas of our lives.Go into the woods with your focus word for 2023 today; you're sure to enjoy the treasures you find!Today's Referenced Research: Roots of the word "Clarity" (My word for 2023):https://www.etymonline.com/word/clarity (2022)"Journal Writing Can Help Mental Clarity in These 9 Ways," from PowerofPositivity.com (2021)https://www.powerofpositivity.com/journal-writing-can-help-mental-clarity/"Oprah Winfrey । 30 Minutes for the NEXT 30 Years of Your LIFE," by Motivation Ark on YouTube (2022)https://youtu.be/dScjN4EKuZoToday's ambient journaling music, "Unconditional Love,"  a GIFT c/o: Massood Taj, thanks to Dina Rae @:http://www.massoodtaj.com/global-music-for-sacred-spaces.htmlFollow us on IG: https://www.instagram.com/beckoningjoy2day/Join our Joyful Journaling Community on Facebook, Joyful Journaling w/Becca Rae at: https://www.facebook.com/groups/631814974994724Are you saying YES to YOU?"If you are an empath, people pleaser, hsp, perfectionist or recovering from trauma the likely answer is no.
