Introducing Deuteronomy

from Wrestling with Theology · host Rev. Doug Minton

Deuteronomy is a series of sermons preached by Moses on the eastern side of the Jordan River, as he prepares the people of Israel to cross over and conquer the Promised Land. These sermons show that he was not giving them anything new, as he goes back to the rest of the Torah in order to remind them of what God had revealed to them at Sinai. Deuteronomy is a great book for us to study this year as we are also pilgrims on the opposite side of the spiritual Jordan River from the eternal Promised Land. Law and Gospel abound as Moses prepares the people for the life to come.
