Hello all and welcome to Know My Nursing Story, a podcast dedicated to telling the stories of what it is like to be a nurse. Over my twenty years in the profession of nursing, I've had countless one on one conversations with nurses about their interest in becoming a nurse, the journey including the periodic struggles through nursing school, caring for others, finding your specialty and looking beyond the current moments in time into the future. Several months ago, I was walking home and it hit me. What if we could share stories of nurses in conversation with the world? How beneficial that would be for aspiring nursing students, aspiring nurses, retired nurses, and everyone else who is curious about the nursing profession. I have always believed that there is a deep bond amongst nurses but that the scope, breadth and impact of being a nurse on the lives of others has not quite made it to the surface for the general population to be able to appreciate and fully understand. My vision for this podcast is to give nurses the opportunity to share their story with me for all of YOU to hear and appreciate.
