Introducing My Amazing Husband!!

from Through the Dark Woods Hosted by Josea Tamira Crossley

Men Grieve Differently. Or Do They??? The truth is, we don’t really know. Or at least, I don’t think we know. I mean, I’m sure there might be scientific studies, but honestly, do we really need more scientific solutions in the world of grief? Don’t we all just need some space to breathe and be together? To be human, and to stumble along, finding our way through a combination of chance, grace and poetry? We’re starting a Men’s Space within our Dark Woods of Grief Community, and it’s going to be led by my amazing husband, Davis Briscoe. Davis is a Somatic Counsellor with over 20 years of experience helping individuals heal, grow and reconnect with their inner strength. His path to becoming a counsellor was shaped by personal challenges. At 30, I survived a fall from a cliff that forced him to confront unresolved pain from my past. This life-altering experience inspired him to commit to somatic counselling, grief work and immersive retreats, leading to profound personal transformation. His philosophy is grounded in these core principles: * Self-awareness is key to personal growth. * Most challenges can be resolved or effectively managed. * Even in hardship, there are opportunities for meaning and self-discovery. Men’s Space Grief Support Group sessions will take place every second Wednesday from 5-7pm pacific time starting Wednesday, October 14th. The Men’s Space sessions are included in our regular Grief Support Group Membership, which hosts 5 Everyone Welcome Grief Support Groups per month + 1-2 BIPOC only sessions. The exchange is “pay-what-you-can” ($40-125 usd per month). You can learn more + register at https://darkwoodsofgrief.com/dark-woods/ Davis will be leading our men’s group and is also available for 1:1 Somatic Counselling. In his private practice, he creates a safe, supportive space to gently uncover and process deep-seated patterns that have been holding you back, and ultimately to rediscover your resilience and develop tools to navigate life’s challenges with authenticity and confidence. Somatic work is very different than talk-based therapy, and works with body & nervous system awareness to build resilience and increase well-being.
