Introducing Pediatrics On Call from the AAP with Joanna Parga-Belinkie, MD and David Hill, MD (S3:E63)

from Charting Pediatrics

When most of us were going through medical training the word podcast had still yet to be uttered. A mash-up of broadcast and ipod, the word was first introduced in 2004. But by 2020 the podcast platform has developed into an essential tool for dissemination of information amongst humans. Now we can get information on any conceivable topic and it seems inevitable that this will transform all continuing education, including medical education. We know that in pediatrics we still need trusted resources and in that spirit, today we are excited to introduce you to a new podcast on the block that you need to be aware of, AAP's new Pediatrics On Call Podcast, we're going to talk to its co-hosts and  discuss the future of CME and learning for pediatricians. Today we are pleased to be joined by Joanna Parga-Belinkie, MD and David Hill, MD, co-hosts of the AAP's new podcast, Pediatrics On Call. Joanna is assistant professor of clinical pediatrics at the University of Pennsylvania  and a pediatrician at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. She co-created the podcast Baby Doctor Mamas as her first foray into podcasting and has been a contributor and writer for many news outlets including The New York Times, NPR and NBC News. David is a pediatrician at Goldsboro Pediatrics in Wayne County, North Carolina, where he practices both hospitalist pediatrics and outpatient pediatrics. He is an adjunct assistant professor of pediatrics at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill. He has written and commentated for NPR's All Things Considered, is a frequent contributor to Parents Magazine and author of several books.
