Introducing...Punkast

from Punkast

In our inaugural episode, Jessica Schwartz, Associate Professor of Musicology at UCLA, provides insight into what's to come in season one of Punkast. In this new series, Schwartz and guest producer Tequila Mockingbird, founder of the Punk Museum, interview punks, punk scholars, and academics to explore the meaning of punk, beyond the framework of genre, as an intergenerational cultural phenomenon. Together, they ponder notions of identification and dis-identification among members of punk communities around the world and how personal politics, categorical defiance, and creative collaboration work together to define, tear down, and redefine punk as it continues to evolve today. This is the Punkast series. Thanks for listening. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
