Introducing The Gospel Of Mark

As the story of Jesus rapidly spread though the 1stcentury world of the Roman Empire, so did the extreme persecutionof Christians. Quickly it became obvious that the teachings andachievements of Jesus needed to be immediately written down beforeall the original followers who knew Christ were either exiledor executed. The first recorded Bible account of Jesus is theGospel of Mark. It is a remarkable eyewitness recounting of whoJesus is and what Jesus did. And, it is also an inspiring challengeto each of us in terms of who Jesus would have us to be and whatJesus would have us to do. The Gospel of Mark tells Jesus'story while seeking to transform ours! This Sunday we'll aim to seethe big picture of Mark's Gospel so we can better appreciate allthe incredible aspects of Jesus' life that this Gospel unfolds.
