I’ve always had a love of fabric, and you’ll often hear me say that I have lint in my blood. Whether you look at my childhood hobbies or a lifetime career in clothing and home goods design, fabric has always been at the center of it all. I’m coming to you from the Dallas/Fort Worth area, once a huge market center for the design industries. But after being downsized from a career I loved; I found a way to turn that passion for all things fabric into the business and creative practice of my dreams. It’s a business that aligns with what I love most, it fuels my creativity and gives me the freedom I’ve always wanted. But getting here wasn’t easy. When I first started out as an entrepreneur, I struggled—struggled to make ends meet, struggled to find clarity, and wrestled with how to achieve my vision. The struggle is real, my friend! Sound familiar? Hmmm -m Fast forward to today, and now I teach classes on design, inspiration, patternmaking and creativity. I run a membership for fabric creatives and help others build creative practices and businesses that they truly love. And that’s why I created The Textile Creative podcast—because I want to help you do the same. In this podcast, I’ll be sharing practical advice, inspiring stories, and actionable insights to help you grow as a creative professional. You’ll learn about creativity practices, fabric techniques, and design resources.
