Is there going to be a moment, many episodes from now, when Kagome replays the conversation she had with Ayame in this episode and realize they could have saved us half a season by just following her to the mountains? Or is it going to be more like Naraku will gain a bunch of power and the gang will find out via word-of-mouth, after many people have already died? Aw fooey.
