It makes you feel so good to know that someone thought enough about you to include you in their plans. Even if you don't plan on attending the event, it's nice to get an invitation. There is 1 invitation that trumps them all, no cap (you'll see why I used that slang in a few seconds). And, there are invitations that you wish to never receive (jury duty ring a bell?).
