Inviting in the Light
from Faith in the Cracks · host Karen Wright
As we approach the longest night on the winter solstice, December 21st, we remember that some people around us struggle. Heavy hearts or pain in life make the darkness feel even darker. Many people at this time of year struggle with depression due to the lack of light. For centuries, people have known the days grew shorter and there are festivals to celebrate light. Advent and Christmas celebrate Jesus as the light of the world, the one whom the darkness cannot overcome. As we draw closer to the longest night, let us bring in more light. Let us be light for others. Candles are not dimmed when their flame is shared but the light grows as we pass the light on to others. Support the show
