Iowa March for Life 2026: Iowa's Pro-Life Fight After Dobbs — Maggie DeWitte

from The Catholic Morning Show · host Sam Halligan, Maggie DeWitte

Pulse Life Advocates is the longest-standing statewide pro-life organization in Iowa, founded in 1972. Guided by the teachings of the Catholic Church, Pulse is an ecumenical organization whose mission is to educate Iowans on the sanctity of human life from fertilization to natural death — now 54 years into that mission. The Post-Dobbs Landscape: Four years after the Dobbs decision returned abortion regulation to individual states, Iowa has enacted some of the most restrictive abortion laws in the country via its heartbeat law — while neighboring states like Minnesota, Illinois, California, and New York have become virtual abortion sanctuary states with near-unlimited access. Maggie addresses this harsh reality and what it means for the ongoing pro-life mission across state lines and at the federal level. 4th Annual Iowa March for Life — June 20, 2026 | Iowa State Capitol, Des Moines Noon — Educational booths: pregnancy resource centers, advocacy and education groups, and pro-life organizations from across Iowa; worship music by Pete Haake of St. Luke's Catholic Church in Ankeny 1:00 PM — Rally featuring legislators, dignitaries, and personal testimonies 2:00 PM — March around the Iowa State Capitol and Iowa Supreme Court building Post-march refreshments and a national Students for Life of America display on the Capitol lawn Can't attend?
