Iowa Player with Heart: Natalie Schroeder

Natalie Schroeder was selected as a Beck's Player with Heart because of her involvement and dedication to her school, sports, and community. Natalie plays volleyball, softball, and golf and participates in National Honor Society, FBLA, and FFA. While balancing academics, multiple sports, and leadership roles, she has developed necessary skills such as discipline, time management, and perseverance to succeed. These experiences have strengthened her work ethic and allowed her to learn the importance of responsibility, teamwork, and resilience. Above all, she has made lots of friends and has had a lot of fun. Natalie is very active in her community. She is a 4-H Club chapter officer and current Scott County Pork Queen and Clinton County Fair Queen. Natalie helps out at local fairs, assists with donations, and participates in park cleanups. She also volunteers for a wide range of community events and organizations, including being an Agriculture in the Classroom Volunteer and Family Resources Volunteer. Natalie launched a community-focused project call "Chat with Nat," a video series that teaches grade BK-6 students in Iowa about different agricultural topics. The project earned her the Herbert Hoover Uncommon Student Award, and it has since been expanded to show in Illinois schools. This project is now reaching more than 1,000 young students and is bringing a positive, accurate perspective on agriculture. Natalie has developed a passion for agricultural communications and marketing through her upbringing and involvement in FFA and 4-H. Through growing up around farming, she has learned how vital the industry is to the economy and rural communities. Natalie hopes to elevate farmers' voices and support the long-term success of farm families and agribusiness with her work in ag communications. Natalie plans to attend the University of Wisconsin - Platteville to study agribusiness with an emphasis in agricultural communications and marketing.
