Iowa Player with Heart: Zackary Harpenau
from Brownfield Ag News
Zackary Harpenau was selected as a Beck's Player with Heart because of his involvement and dedication to his school, sports, and community. Zackary plays football and participates in wrestling, weightlifting, and the strength and conditioning club. He enjoys being part of athletics because his team is like family. They make him strive to be the best version of himself through hard work and discipline. Zackary also participates in Service Day, Then Feed Just One, and the Heelan Auction. He is very active in his community through 4-H and his church. Through 4-H, Zackary participates in the county fair, helps younger members show animals and pledge, visits nursing homes, and cleans the local park. In church, he helps serve masses and assists during annual fundraisers. Zackary is also a blood donor and helps with setup for STEMM Auction fundraisers. Agriculture is not only a way of life for Zackary, but also means feeding the world. Whether it's the meat or the vegetables, a farmer grows everything that is on someone's plate. Zackary plans to attend a university in the Midwest to major in agriculture - ag systems technology and animal science. He also hopes to take over the family farm as a fifth-generation farmer and raise hogs.
