Iowa Special Teams Battle for New Season | Iowa Hawkeyes Football News

Iowa’s special teams are in flux as they gear up for the season opener, with major changes after coordinator LeVar Woods and punter Rhys Dakin left for Michigan State. New offensive analyst Chris Polizzi now leads the charge to rebuild the unit, facing tough decisions at kicker, punter, and returner. North Dakota State transfer Eli Ozick and walk-on Caden Buhr battle for the kicking job, while Aussie freshman Boston Everitt and Simpson transfer Tanner Philpott compete to replace Dakin. At returner, speedster Cooper Lutmer and track phenom Brevin Doll are vying to fill the void left by a two-time award winner. With key roles still up for grabs, Iowa’s new leadership and emerging talent will be vital to maintaining their elite special teams legacy.
