Iowa vs Minnesota Reaction + Analysis | College Football 2023

PJ Fleck earned his first win over the Iowa Hawkeyes in his coaching career. Fleck and the Golden Gophers also earned their first road Top 25 win of his coaching tenure. This game was dominated by field goals, punts, running the football, and playing stout defense. Despite lacking in offense, I found myself being entertained by this game and being involved. The Floyd of Rosedale will be held by Minnesota Football because of their superior offense, dominance of possession, and key turnovers forced by their defense. Minnesota ran for over 100 yards and had 35 minutes of possession, which wore down Iowa's defense to a breaking point in the 4th quarter. By contrast, Iowa ran for well under 50 yards and only had 127 total yards overall. Iowa Football's offense is grotesque and is somehow worse than their offense last year. Quarterback Deacon Hill is the nation's worst starting quarterback at the FBS and possibly the FCS level as well and the receiver corps is incredibly shallow.
