Your midday Iowa weather update A Special Weather Statement is in effect across Iowa today as gusty south winds combine with warm temperatures and low humidity to create elevated fire danger through early evening. With dried vegetation from winter still covering much of the state, any outdoor burning should be avoided. Starting this morning with temperatures around 49 degrees, we'll see a rapid warmup through the day.
