Independent and Peaceful Australia, or IPAN, advocate for an Australia free of foreign military bases and free of interventions by other foreign governments, corporations or vested interests that seek to exert undue influence in shaping Australia’s foreign and defence policies in a manner that diminishes Australia's sovereignty.They have recently launched A People’s Inquiry - Exploring the case for an Independent and Peaceful Australia.   The inquiry will  explore  the questions What are the costs and consequences of Australia’s involvement in US-led wars and the US-Alliance? and What are the alternatives?The inquiry has  pillars - first nations, economic, social and community, environment and climate, military and defence, foreign policy, political and democratic rights and unions and workers rights.The inquiry provides an opportunity and a voice to individuals and organisations whose views and concerns about Australia’s involvement in US wars and the USA-Australia alliance have not been heard in the public debate.Organisations and individuals are invited to make a submission.
