The White House emphasized that diplomacy remains the first option, but military action is on the table. Trump stated that Iran may have crossed a “red line” by killing unarmed protesters. Reports indicate massive protests in Iran, with some deaths caused by stampedes and others allegedly by government forces. Trump warned Iran that if they harm protesters, the U.S. will respond “very hard.” Communication channels remain open between U.S. and Iranian officials despite no formal diplomatic relations. 2.
