Irie Jamms Show Digital B Special

from DJ 745 · host DJ 745

DJ 745 plays a STRICTLY VINYL Salute to the musical works of Bobby Dixon who started the Digital B Record Label in 1987 after successfully working as Jammy's chief engineer and right hand man. From his studio in Havendale, Kingston Jamaica he has set the standard for exemplary roots reggae starting with some fine sides from Shabba Ranks (Peanie Peanie) and Cocoa Tea (Lonesome Side) to working on Shabba's groundbreaking albums Epic-Sony in the early 90's. He has been pivotal in nurturing the careers of artists including Garnett Silk, Morgan Heritage, Chezidek and Admiral Tibet to name a few as well as working alongside Sizzla on two of his finest albums to date (Black Woman and Child/ Da Real Thing). Working alongside him are his sons Sheldon CaliBud Stewart and Giark who have followed in their fathers footsteps working with artists including Warrior King. The wealth of material coming from the studio is phenomenal with serious adaptations of riddims including Satta, Billie Jean, Cherry Oh Baby and Heavenless to name a few. In more recent years, they have worked with a younger generation of artists including Iba Mahr, Chronixx, Rokkustic, Khalilah Rose and Vysionaer
