Episode No. 25 of the Irish Illustrated Interviews podcast series features Isaiah Dunn, a former Notre Dame walk-on cornerback who suited up for the Fighting Irish from 2022-25. Fans might know him from his Notre Dame-produced social media segment, “That’s How It’s Dunn,” where he interviewed teammates, asking them to break down big plays they made in a recent game. He also co-hosted “Wake Up the Echoes,” a University podcast featuring Marcus Freeman and other members of the team, along with Tony Simeone for the last two years. Today, Dunn is a sports reporter and anchor with WNDU, one of the local television stations situated just off Notre Dame’s campus. You might even see him driving a golf cart to press conferences this fall. Our conversation covers how a kid who grew up in California fell in love with the Fighting Irish, his experiences as a walk-on, and the valuable media training he gained at Notre Dame. We also discuss his current role at WNDU, his internship at ESPN, pickleball and his thoughts on the upcoming season.
