Is America Still Great?

This week we reflect back 20 years ago to the attacks on 9/11 up to recent events and ask a question that we feel is worth addressing, "is America still great?" It's a follow up, if you will, from our "America is Great Because America is Good" episode in July of last year. Join us as we dig in to some stories that you may or may not have heard of or even just forgotten to see if, indeed, America is still good. Because in the end, it is up to each of us to keep her great. ---Our Locals--- https://thenakedapple.locals.com/ ---Our swag--- https://www.thenakedapplemedia.com/shop ---Our Sources--- ---Flashback--- September 11, 2001: https://youtu.be/G6_LcD4WRlA 9/11 boat lift: https://www.cnn.com/2017/08/20/opinions/911-boatlift-rescue-opinion-dulong/index.html Flight 93: https://www.history.com/topics/21st-century/flight-93 Hurricane Katrina: https://www.history.com/topics/natural-disasters-and-environment/hurricane-katrina The Cajun Navy: https://www.cbsnews.com/news/remembering-the-cajun-navy-10-years-after-hurricane-katrina ---Afghanistan "Digital Dunkirk"--- Task Force Foxfire: https://www.kbtx.com/2021/08/25/group-bcs-veterans-former-intel-officers-helping-evacuate-families-out-afghanistan/ All Things Possible: https://www.foxnews.com/world/afghanistan-veterans-nonprofit-evacuate-christians-taliban-kabul Dynamo Two: https://www.fox5dc.com/news/digital-dunkirk-military-veterans-group-helping-to-get-people-out-of-afghanistan Save Our Allies: https://saveourallies.org/ Pineapple Express: https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/us-special-operations-vets-carry-daring-mission-save/story?id=79670236 Sentinel Foundation: https://www.foxnews.com/politics/state-department-steal-credit-rescue-4-americans-organizer The Nazarene Fund: https://www.theblaze.com/news/glenn-beck-audience-22-million-rescue-christians-afghanistan Wall Builders: https://wallbuilders.com/contribute/ Oklahoma mom rescues all girl robotics team: https://nypost.com/2021/08/19/oklahoma-mom-rescues-members-of-afghan-all-girls-robotics-team/ ---Hurricane Ida--- Heroes in a Storm: https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2021/sep/03/ida-storm-hurricane-north-east-rescuers
