Is Doctrine Important In Fiction? (Episode 15)
from ChristianWritersBookStore · host Michael Furlonger
In this episode of ChristianWritersBookstore YouTube & Podcast, author and founder, Michael Furlonger shares on his own experience as a Christian author. He shares on his personal responsibility to write biblically accurate theology, even in a fiction book about a Christian family. In his book, I Am The Sinner, the family deals with the loss of their oldest son/ older brother. Now with a hole in the family dynamic, the younger brother tries to fill in the gap left by his older brother. While trying to be a mature protector of his sister in highschool, he begins having dreams about his brother and a little girl in Heaven that offer emotional support. Michael's problem is that it is not sound doctrine. Our only mediator is Jesus Christ (1 Tim. 2:5). And following other "spirits" (characters in dreams) as a guide, we are inviting demons.
