Is gay marriage Scriptural?
from The Protestant Reclamation Hosted by The Protestant Reclamation
Summary In this episode, Matt and Matt discuss various questions from Reddit related to pride, eclipses, churches compromising for popularity, and same-sex marriages. They emphasize the importance of understanding the context of pride as a sin and the dangers of idolatrous pride. They also address the significance of eclipses and debunk the idea of them being prophetic events. Regarding churches compromising for popularity, they highlight the need for churches to stay true to God's word and not condone sin. They also discuss the complexities of divorce and same-sex marriages within Christian churches. Takeaways Pride can be sinful when it involves idolatry or a sense of superiority without acknowledging God's role in our achievements. Eclipses are natural phenomena and should not be seen as prophetic events. Churches should not compromise their beliefs for popularity but should instead stay true to God's word and call people back to His good order. Divorce is a complex issue, and each case should be evaluated individually based on biblical principles. Same-sex marriages performed by Christian churches go against the teachings of Christ and can lead to a loss of faith. Understanding the fullness and richness of scripture is crucial to maintaining a strong foundation of faith. Sound Bites "God, the only reason for these achievements that I have made or that my friends and family have made." "I mean this happens what every seven, eleven, twenty years? Something like that." "Churches that compromise for popularity are working against Christ."
