Is Gerrymandering the Point?

Will everything get better if we gerrymander all competitive districts in America?  If the point of each party is to maintain power, isn't gerrymandering the point?  Jeff, Bill, and callers discuss if we will have a democracy after all the gerrymandering.  If you are a conservative in Colorado and feel your voice does not matter in our state anymore, should it be "locked in" by more gerrymandering?  Is that the idea behind American Democracy?  See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
