Is God Your Taskmaster Or Friend?

The Lord is setting us free from the way we have related to Him in the past. This is an opportunity for Him to transform us into what we were created to be. No more this drive to do something, to produce something, but instead we are learning how to abide in God. Show Notes: We are experiencing the rolling off of the oppression of Babylon and the realization of who we are in God. God is freeing us from that taskmaster concept of having to do something or be something. He is bringing us into a deeper revelation of Himself. The Lord is trying to reveal Himself as our friend. In this new relationship with the Lord, there is a sense of rest, just abiding in Him. We are finding in our spirit's, in our way of thinking, and the way we relate to people, a depth of revelation of who we are in Him.   Quotes: Egypt, Babylon, however, you want to say this is being rolled off of us, this Passover... Abraham was called the friend of God. Think about that one. He was the friend of God. He was not his taskmaster. What are you today? Are you broken and contrite before the Lord? Is your heart open to receive Him? Are you willing to open up and be made new? It's all about delivering you into what God has for you next. Every step is important because we're now walking out the word that's for us for this day.   Scriptural References: James 2:23 And the Scripture was fulfilled which says, Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.'And he was called the friend of God. John 15:14-15 You are My friends if you do whatever I command you. No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you. Book of Joshua ( the Passover of Gilgal.) Take Away: Today the Lord is delivering His people from the taskmaster spirit and the way His people have related to Him. A new relationship is opening up that is all about rest, trust, and abiding in Him. Now He will have a people that He can call His friends.
