TRANSCRIPT · AUTO-GENERATED

Hello and Happy Witness Day Morning! Today's topic or title is, is it the fuel or its reaction? And the subtitle that I gave for this particular article is, Being Present in Borderly Sensation Helps Overcome Fear. This article was published in Medium.com and it was done as a response to a daily prompt, Day 22, of a 30-day writing challenge.

And the prompt given was, describe your worst fear. So again, the title that I gave for that prompt was, Is it the fear or its reaction and the subtitle? Being Present in Borderly Sensation Helps Overcome Fear. Alright, my worst fear is, fear itself.

I know you're going to ask, are you crazy? Fear is unknown. It cannot be seen. It can't be heard.

Once I ask the question, fear of what? Then according to the answer, such as fear of failure, fear of success, fear of abandonment, etc. I can go deeper and ask probing questions. The answers will lead me to the first action step.

I will overcome that particular fear. I personally think that fear shows up as a warning sign, as a bodily sensation. It is important to learn to be present with those sensations and use tools to overcome the sensation to move past the fear. I feel blessed to have grown up listening to positive words and phrases like, Be courageous, have faith, be bold.

It does not mean that I don't have the worst fear. Probably I do. I love or love. LOL.

As I think of fear in a positive way, such as sensation, that shows up in my body, number one, to signal or warn, to stay safe and secure based on my current knowledge. Either stay safe, you know, it's a signal, okay? It's a signal or warn to stay safe and secure based on my current knowledge, too, an indication that currently I'm not intrinsically motivated to do the thing that I fear as it does not conform to my core values. Refending the word fear and asking the question, fear of what works for me.

For example, as I have also mentioned, I am primarily an introverted person, but people perceive me, people who know me, trust me, you know, who I hang out with, they perceive me as extrovert. And so I have now started saying that, okay, I should not label myself as introvert or extrovert. I can say, primarily introvert, but leaning towards ambi-watch, leaning towards ambi-watch. All right.

Now, so just check with yourself. If you're scared or having fear, it can be a signal for you, you know, hey, I want you to stay safe and I want to be secure. That's why the fear is coming out. And it's a good fear.

Hold it. Hold it. Hang on to it. Be with it.

Embrace it. Don't think that, oh, just because you're having fear, don't bring in shame or guilt or, you know, I'm not good enough. I'm not smart enough. Oh, I'm not like that person.

I'm not courageous. Don't bring in that. There are some times the fear is good for you. It keeps you safe and secure and it comes as a warning signal.

Yet another way that fear comes up is, you know, your core value. Again, I will say that please go to VIA, which is an action. Find out your characteristics, characteristics and your core values. And also, get up.com.

I think go and find out your core values, the five core values. So if the five core values, you know, when you're strength, the core values, if it is if some if that particular action or out of comfort zone or whatever, whatever, if somebody is imposing on you and even if it is for maybe the good for the family, good for the career or whatever, whatever it is, if you're not intrinsically motivated, what does it mean? It doesn't come from inside of you to do that thing, to be the person, to have that experience. It doesn't come intrinsically from you.

Then your fear also can show up. Okay. Like for example, I do not think that I want to party. That's not my intrinsic motivation.

It doesn't mean that people who are partying are bad or something like that. They may be highly extroverted. They love their energy. Positive energy comes by hanging with lot of people outside.

They like to borrow energy from a lot of people and then feed their inner in your staff. Whatever it is, there is no right or wrong way. But then for me, so it doesn't mean that, okay, if I'm having that fear or it's because I'm not intrinsically motivated. That's it.

Unless and until it is necessary to be in a party because of a family obligation or a friend's obligation, where I will show up with, show up just as myself. Right? So that's what, I mean, that's what I want you to understand when it comes to fear. But anyway, I'm answering the prompt.

So this is how I answered. So let me go to the end of that. So befriending the word fear and asking the question fear of what works for me. Thank you, Nancy Blackman for the lovely article.
